Spring Summer 12

For Spring Summer 2012 PS Paul Smith focuses on two key themes; work-wear and sportswear.
The work wear story has a washed and over dyed colour palette; blue, ecru and damson. Utility influence, the fabrics are relaxed yet durable, with heavy stitch detail. Patch work detail on fabrics create a repaired vintage feel to pieces. Knitwear is oversized and textural; gauges are mixed and completed with nylon trims. Outerwear remains strong this season with quilted pea coats, parkas and reversible jackets.
The second part to the collection is clean, sharp and sportswear influenced. Tones of black, navy, grey and white are punctuated with bright reds and blues. Technical detailing, including studs and zips provides a modern twist on a classic garments. The silhouette in tailoring is streamlined; shoulders are neat and lapels are wide.
