For Summer 2010 the Paul collection is influenced by Andy Warhol and ‘Interview’, the magazine he cofounded, dedicated to the cult of celebrity - a phenomenon that fascinated Warhol.
‘Interview’ magazine grew in popularity around the late 70’s/early 80’s and was often passed out members of Manhattans ‘It Crowd’ to lure them into contributing to the next issue.
His fascination with Edie Sedgewick led her to be used as a somewhat muse for the collection, exploring her individuality and effortless sense of style. Her casual femininity with tom-boyish edge, often restyling men’s clothing in a sexy manner.
Fabrics are washed, mercerized, cintzed and sand washed for a lived in look. The spirit of the collection is mirrored with eye catching prints. Denim is integral with a variety of styles, whilst print bases have a translucent quality, reminiscent of parachute silks.
