Women
Paul Smith showcased his SS06 Womens collection at London Fashion week this week.
The collection embraced all things quintessentially British, with the theme of the collection set in rambling country manors and English stately homes.
The subdued colour palette created a sun bleached, antique and gentle mood. With pale blacks and antique pinks, alongside softer colours the likes of washed greys, pale blue and high lights of soft red.
Prints included a variety of Eastern treasures with chinoiserie florals, birds and vases. A cherry blossom, a Toile de Jouey inspired by an English country manor wallpapers and a baby flower stripe are also seen.
Elegant and feminine jacket shapes have nipped in waists and are neatly fitted to the body. Shoulder darts give a softer line and petite look, while ruched waists and sleeves are scrunched up for a more relaxed air. Boyish blazers are delicately embroidered with motifs and contrast edge detail.
