As part of the 100% Design Festival, Peter Marigold has created an installation in the Sloane Avenue Window.
Tilt Two is an extension of Marigold’s Split series, which follows the simple principle that the inverted angles of a split form, any form, will always total 360 degrees.
This principle was first applied to a wall arrangement of Split Box Shelving and has since evolved into the Tilt series of freestanding structures – all made from reclaimed timber and, in particular, a fallen tree from Hampstead Heath which Marigold was granted sole permission to take away for use.
While Tilt Two has been specially commissioned for the window display in Paul Smith’s Sloane Avenue store, more of Marigold’s work can be viewed at Grandmateria, an exhibition organised by Gallery Libby Sellers in the temporary location 1-5 Exhibition Road, SW7 (beside South Kensington underground station) until 14 October 2007.
