Paul Smith Jeans and 4Radio are pleased to announce an exclusive partnership to promote the new series of New Music Download on www.channel4.com/newmusicdownload.
New Music Download, presented by DJ Tom Ravenscroft, was one of Channel 4 Radio’s most popular series in 2007 and is packed with new music, information on new and unsigned bands, exclusive live sessions, as well as blogs and a gallery of Tom’s weekly antics.
The partnership between Channel 4 Radio and Paul Smith Jeans will run throughout the entire 12-part New Music Download series, which plays on alternate Thursdays.
The partnership came about as Paul dedicated his Autumn Winter 2005 men’s show to the late John Peel. It was through mutual friends that Paul then got to know John’s son, Tom Ravenscroft. From a conversation about what to do with Tom’s dad’s record collection and a shared passion for music, Paul and Tom knew they wanted to work together.
In the past year Tom has become one of Channel 4 Radio’s leading DJ’s with his own radio show which champions unsigned bands and new artistes. As Paul is a supporter of fresh talent in the music industry, a partnership with Paul Smith's website and Tom’s online radio show is a natural fit.
