I recently received a FANTASTIC new bike! I have collaborated with Danish charity project La Flamme Rouge to create 6 fantastic bikes to auction for this Cancer charity. (The name is taken from ‘La Flamme Rouge’ which means ‘the last kilometre’ in a cycling race – you always see ‘la flamme rouge’ red triangle when there is 1 km left to go… it was used as a positive sign to say don’t give up, even when you are really suffering.) I have been involved in the charity for some time and have also created a ‘flamme rouge’ jersey, they very kindly gave me one of the bikes!
The beautiful bikes will be auctioned to raise money for La Flamme Rouge (alongside Om-Sorg, a Danish Cancer charity) helping to provide help and support for children experiencing life threatening illness and loss – so a very worthy cause.
For all us geeks.. The bikes are made in Denmark by Principia, breaks and gears are by SRAM, wheels are DT Swiss carbon fibre rims, chain wheel, handlebars are FSA from Italy, again in carbon fibre and the frame is C40T carbon fibre, shimano pedals, saddle is Prologo and the bike weighs an amazing 6.9KG – it’s totally beautiful!!!
