To celebrate Le Grand Départ of the Tour de France in London in July, Paul Smith Jeans joined forces with Rapha (a performance roadwear cycling company) to produce an exclusive commemorative Sportwool jersey and range of tweed/ houndstooth cycling caps.

The jersey design was inspired by vintage racings jerseys from the 1970s with graphic references born from legendary Italian racing teams, notably the Coppi bianci team. Made from sports wool it is a highly advanced modern adaptation of the original wool jersey the Coppi team would have worn.

The jersey was produced only in green, to signal the colour of the jersey worn by the sprint winner and highlight the fact that the first stage of the Tour De France, held in London was a sprint.
