Paul Smith ‘Globe’ will be exhibiting Havana Quintet and Las Vegas Suite, the latest work by contemporary painter and printmaker Brendan Neiland.

Some of the most iconic and memorable images of metropolitan existence have been created by Brendan Neiland, earning him a reputation as one of Britain’s most revered painters and printmakers. Public service institutions, corporate companies and institutes of education have commissioned his creative talent and venerated galleries across the world exhibit his work.

The urban landscape, including the glass and steel structures typical of modern corporate architecture, are often the subjects of his work, juxtaposing celebration with melancholia, the imposing with the intimate. Havana Quintet and Las Vegas Suite look at the cities in their titles through a particularly bold and colourful lens.
His work is influenced by the art of photography as well as the subtle nuances and poetry of light – aligning his work with that of Magritte and Vermeer. Technology, culture, nature and a sense of the spiritual are brought together in Neiland’s work to suggest the depth that can be found in even a modest moment of reflection.
Brendan Neiland began his career around the same time as Paul Smith and they have known each other ever since. Brendan’s work often adorns the walls of Paul Smith shops and offices across the globe.
