Overview

David Shrigley is a Glasgow-based artist. Born in Macclesfield on 17 September 1968, he grew up in Leicestershire, England, and attended Leicester’s Polytechnic Art and Design course in 1987-1988, and subsequently studied Environmental Art at the Glasgow School of Art from 1988-1991.

Shrigley works in various media, but best known for his dark mordantly humorous cartoons.

“David Shrigley is an elderly gentleman with white hair and one eye. He is acutely shy due to a speech impediment and spends almost all his time without human company. He lives is Scotland and spends most of his time drawing pictures and tending to his pet budgerigar. He says that the source material for his artwork comes to him in dreams.”

Each hardback book is bound in fine black cloth and each has a one-of-a-kind David Shrigley drawing in colour, dry mounted on front with protective wrapper. The artist only produced 100 one-of-a-kind copies of “Ants have sex in your beer” books and ‘Paul Smith’ is limited to only 8 copies, signed and numbered by the artist.

Returns & Exchanges

We will offer a refund or exchange (if stock available) on any unworn/unused goods (faulty or otherwise) within 28 days of dispatch. Any Christmas gifts purchased online can be returned or exchanged up to 28 days after Christmas Day. The final deadline for receiving Christmas returns will be 23rd January 2012. To qualify write 'Christmas Gift' on your Returns Form.

We now include a complementary returns label in all orders delivered within the UK. Simply attach to the package, take to the Post Office and obtain proof of postage from Royal Mail.

Like-for-like exchanges or exchanges of a higher monetary value (where additional payment is required) can be processed at a Paul Smith shop (this excludes Paul Smith concessions or third party department stores) at the manager’s discretion; so long as adequate proof of purchase is provided.
