Paul Smith and Barbour

Paul Smith Jeans and J Barbour & Sons have collaborated on a capsule collection for autumn/winter 2012.

“I have always been a fan of Barbour and this has been a great opportunity to collaborate on a collection that combines the British heritage and identities of both companies.” Paul Smith
The collection of twelve pieces for men and eight pieces for women show a unique attention to detail that recognise the British heritage and design identity that has become synonymous with both companies. The pieces draw inspiration from Barbour’s longstanding industrial roots and iconic outerwear styles and combine them with prints, details and idiosyncrasies unique to Paul Smith.
For men, the collection includes a mariner-style Seafarer based on a classic Barbour jacket, inspired by an antique sail discovered by Paul Smith, the traditional Fieldman Trad with Paul Smith stich detailing and a bright down-filled jacket with deep storm hood and wide placket & pockets. Shirts in heritage cloths of chambray and Oxford cotton with soft elbow patches and tailored turn-up cords in autumnal colours are also available as part of the collaboration.
The women’s collection is a playful take on two of Barbour’s most popular styles; the belted International, with a colourful printed lining of horizontal ribbons of polka dots, florals and traditional checked trims and the Beadnell with a subtle polka dot waxed outer and contrasting bright silky lining. Two t-shirt styles in co-ordinating brightly coloured prints, a soft washed chambray shirt and slim indigo jeans complete the collection.
The Paul Smith Jeans & Barbour collection is available from September in selected Paul Smith and Barbour shops, or you can shop the collection online here.
