Kristjana S Williams at Paul Smith 'Globe', London Heathrow

Following on from her debut exhibition "Hnottur CMYK" in 2012, Paul Smith Globe is pleased to host a new exhibition of prints by Kristjana S Williams.

"Gladninger" is an exhibition consisting of illustrations juxtaposing strong graphic lines with intricate Victorian engravings creating incredibly striking and unique art work. Comprising of collages of materials that have been collected from Victorian engravings and photographs, found objects and real nature including leafs and twigs.
Kristjana is an Icelandic artist whose designs are bright & bold, layering and interweaving the aesthetic of Victorian engravings with modern and contemporary illustration. Her work is inspired by the starkness of Icelandic nature and the symmetry that lies in all things living; using hundreds, if not thousands, of layers to build up and construct a complete image.
As founder and creative director of the concept shop, Beyond the Valley in West London, Kristjana is an artist with over 10 years experience in the realm of illustration, graphics, design and fashion. Her recent work has included art direction for The Wilderness Festival, large scale mural displays at the V&A museum for the London Design Festival, a collaboration with heritage furniture maker George Smith and wallpaper designer Cole & Son and exclusive prints for Liberty of London.
