Yoshihiro Tasuki at Paul Smith 'Space', Tokyo

Paul Smith 'Space', Tokyo hosts an exhibition of photography by Yoshihiro Tasuki.

In September of this year, while the late-summer heat still lingered in Japan, photographer Yoshihiro Tatsuki visited the man-made island of Hachijo-jima, Tokyo. Using the Japanese word 'SHOJO', a term that refers to girls aged between four and sixteen, as a focal point for the project, he photographed four local young girls, celebrating their purity and innocence. With each of the girls dressed in clothes from Paul Smith Junior and Paul by Paul Smith collections, captured against the beautiful yet manufactured backdrop of the island, the exhibition juxtaposes the traditional connotations of the term 'SHOJO' with contemporary Japanese youth culture. Pay a visit to Paul Smith 'Space' in Tokyo to see the exhibition.
