Focus | Paul Smith London Autumn/Winter 13

A slim-fitting elephant grey Kensington, a definitive three piece Byard or a classic navy Westbourne; Paul Smith provides tailoring to suit every occasion.

Paul Smith's deftness for modernising sartorial classics shines bright in the London collection where each season suits and formal outerwear are given the Paul Smith treatment.
Complimenting the colourful pieces that ruled the catwalk at the Men's Autumn/WInter 13 fashion show, the London collection offers more traditional tailoring options but they're always packed with the distinguished details that puts Paul Smith a cut above the rest.
This season, Paul Smith London focuses on sartorial staples. The collection includes items of clothing that every gentleman aspires to have in their wardrobe. True to Paul Smith form garments have been designed with elements of modernity and hidden secrets added. Whether it is the tailored wool Epsom coat with a velvet top collar or an updated double breasted trench coat, each individual piece has had the Paul Smith twist added.
Details have taken inspiration from conventional bespoke construction with elements of modernity added through vivid tones in under collar meltons and unique trims. From a contrast colour button on a sleeve cuff to an accent blue eyelet subtly added to an under collar, every garment has a point of difference.
The making of a luxury suit is in the fabric and in Paul Smith London every stitch celebrates the inherent beauty of the cloth. Fabrics featured in the collection include cashmere blends and heavyweight compact wools.
Within the collection there are three fits of suit, the slim fit is named Kensington, the Westbourne is the more modern fit, whilst the more tailored is named Byard, after the Nottingham street where Paul's first shop was located. Modern tailoring across the collection results in a strong focus on fit, proportion and end purpose.
