The Bicycle Film Festival at Paul Smith Soho

As part of London's annual Bicycle Film Festival, Paul Smith Soho will partner with Ridley Scott Associate Films and Donhou Bicycles.

From Monday 30th September the windows of the new Paul Smith shop on Beak Street, Soho feature Donhou Bicycle's "100mph bike". Constructed by Hackney-based frame builder Tom Donhou using a bespoke 104 tooth chainrig created by Royce, Tom hit speeds of close to 100mph on the bicycle, drafting behind his old Ford Zephyr saloon on a disused World War 2 airstrip. Watch Spindle Film's beautiful film documenting the process here.

With the Bicycle Film Festival celebrating its tenth year in the UK, Paul Smith Soho is delighted to play a part in the packed programme by hosting Ridley Scott's feature film 'Boy and a Bicycle'. With the festival running from Thursday 3rd October to Sunday 6th October, the film will be shown on a loop in the basement of the shop, free to all to view. Scott's first ever film, he made 'Boy and a Bicycle' whilst studying at London's Royal College of Art, with many suggesting it contains several early suggestions of the motifs that he's now famous for. Particularly poignant, the film features Ridley's brother Tony, who died last year.

We hope you'll join Paul Smith, Donhou Bicycles and RSA films in celebrating what's sure to be an other successful year for the Bicycle Film Festival.
