Paul Smith for NeueHouse

Start spreading the news: Paul's on a whistle stop tour of New York.

Arriving yesterday, Paul's first stop was his shop on Greene Street in Soho where he signed copies of the new 'Hello, My Name Is Paul Smith' book, published by Rizzoli.

After putting pen to paper he hot-footed it to NeueHouse on East 25th Street to take to the spotlight. A recently launched members' club in Manhatthan aimed at catering to the creative arts and media industries, NeueHouse has attracted an array of speakers from architects to composers, a line-up Paul was delighted to join.

In front of an audience including Simon Doonan of Barneys New York, Pilar Viladas of the New York Times, actor Griffin Dunne, Michael Maharam of Maharam and Charles Miers of Rizzoli, Paul spoke about his inspirations and his creative process. He explained: "It was a fantastic atmosphere and with such a great crowd. Certainly one of the most interesting talks for me, that I've done, just because of the people who were there that I spoke with afterwards; actors, writers, artists and more. It was a really great evening."
